On our ten-week Introduction to Visual Effects course, you will use Adobe After Effects to learn key skills that will enhance your video production. The course covers a range of professional techniques that include planning your project, preparing your assets, creating comps, and animating a variety of visual effects on still images and text.

This course will teach you how to enhance your storytelling skills through a variety of editing techniques. You will learn how to integrate After Effects into your workflow with Premiere, and develop techniques such as adding transitions and voice-overs. After Effects will help you to add new skills to your video production, such as defining compositions, compositing, and animating visual effects on video images.

Our ten-week audio post-production course will introduce you to the fascinating world of sound for media in areas such as game and film. You will learn how to combine dialogue, sound effects and music to create finished media products and the course will help you to understand the historical developments that underpin today's industry practice.

A great progression from our Foley and Location Recording course, this course will introduce you to Movie and Media Sound Editing, from initial concept to final product. Learn how to appropriately edit sound to match action, enhance emotional impact and build tension. Understand how music works with the moving image and learn specific editing procedures to successfully work with sound for special effects and dialogue.

This Level 2 course runs for two terms, during which you will learn aspects of the media world with a thorough grounding in filmmaking. It prepares you for further study or for employment in the industry. Through realistic, industry-related projects, you will create digital films from first idea to finished product. This includes practical lessons and projects that give the opportunity to develop creative filmmaking skills. Attendance is Mon & Wed with Wed being a practical workshop session. This course is a natural progression from our Film & Video: L1 Creative Production running in Term 1.

This Level 1 certified course provides a starting point for those wishing to develop a creative career. It will introduce you to film and video production and provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to progress to further study related to film and the digital industries. It will also help to develop the skills to work in these areas. On successful completion of our Level 1 course, you may be able to progress to our Level 2 Film and Video course starting in January 2025.

On this course, you will develop the art of storytelling through the production of a short film in Adobe Premiere. You will use editing techniques such as, assembling shots, using green screen, adding narration, transitions and sound effects. The course also includes colour grading and colour correction techniques to retouch your video footage to enhance colour, contrast, and mood, to create a cinematic look and feel.

Our ten-week location recording, Foley and sound design course is the next step in developing your audio post-production skills. You will learn the skills of location recording and how to edit and re-record audio in post-production e.g. dialogue and sound effects replacement. You will be introduced to the language and practice of sound design so you understand techniques to manipulate sound.
